Ann RedelfsAnn Redelfs’ tenure in the high-performance computing community began with the start of the U.S. National Science Foundation’s Supercomputer Center program, in the 1980s, during which she served as the director of external relations for the Cornell Theory Center, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. From there, she continued to the Center for Research on Parallel Computation (Rice University), and the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC–University of California, San Diego). She has directed both external relations and education programs at these organizations, and also served as the diversity officer at SDSC, founding and co-chairing its first Diversity Committee. She served on the leadership committees for the National Partnership for Advanced Computational Infrastructure; Education, Outreach, and Training - Partnership for Advanced Computational Infrastructure; and Engaging People in Cyberinfrastructure.

Redelfs has served on national conference steering committees within the computing community, including the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, the Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing, the GRIDtoday VIP Summits, and 10 years with the Supercomputing (SC) ‘XY committee. Redelfs has been active with the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology, the Computing Research Association’s Committee on the Status of Women in Computing Research (CRA-W), the Coalition to Diversify Computing, the Engaging People in Cyberinfrastructure collaboration, and MentorNet. She is the editor of CRA-W’s “Career Mentoring Workshops” 10-year summary publication, editor of “High-Performance Computing’s Contributions to Society,” and editorial director of “The Emergence of Grid and Service-Oriented IT.” She is currently a consultant within academia and industry, providing a range of services including proposal development, strategic planning for external relations and/or education programs, resource/relationship brokering, writing and editing, and event management.
