Moira GunnDubbed the “Grand Dame of Tech Talk” by Wired magazine, Dr. Moira Gunn is best known as the host of Public Radio’s hour-long Tech Nation, the sole nationally-syndicated technology program on Public Radio and NPR’s Satellite Radio Service.

Through in-depth weekly interviews, Dr. Gunn speaks with innovators who drive technology, as well as everyday people who must cope in our new high-tech world. In over 2,000 interviews with space pioneers and cyber-novelists, venture capitalists and genetics researchers, teachers and technophobes, Dr. Gunn has addressed every facet of American life through the lens of technology … a life that is changing before our very eyes.

Dr. Gunn is a popular commentator on life in the high-tech age. Her insights air nationally and internationally on Public Radio in the weekly feature Five Minutes

An engineer and former NASA scientist, Dr. Gunn is no stranger to technology. The first woman to earn a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, Dr. Gunn has been named both an “Old Master” and an “Outstanding Mechanical Engineer” by that university and serves on its Dean of Sciences Advisory Council. Dr. Gunn also holds advanced degrees in Computer Science and was granted a software technical patent in Nutrition Science Research. She has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco for over 20 years.

Dr. Gunn serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Tech Museum of Innovation and the National Center for Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Dr. Gunn also serves on the Advisory Board of the Institute for Women & Technology and the Tech Awards’ Global Leadership Council.

Dr. Gunn speaks regularly on the Impact of Technology on Society, on the Current and Projected State of Global Technology Penetration, and on her experience as a woman in Technology, Science, and Engineering.
