Who We Are: Sarah Revi Sterling

Sarah Revi-SterlingS. Revi Sterling is a doctoral student at the ATLAS Institute and Department of Computer Science at University of Colorado. Her research focuses on the role of Information and Communication Technologies in gender empowerment strategies for developing regions. She is currently developing custom hardware and software solutions for specific development issues, and is conducting fieldwork in Africa and India. Prior to graduate school, she worked at Microsoft for ten years, most recently in Microsoft Research’s External Research Program where she championed Microsoft’s gender equity efforts in higher education, including testifying on gendered pipeline issues before Congress in 2005. She serves on the Anita Borg Institute board and is former co-chair of the National Center.
